WHAT WHAT WHAT???
(via thedailywhat)
Okay, so I’m not doing student government next year (which is a story in of itself)
but I have forgo’d that option because not only did I not find what I was looking for in student government, I’ve decided to prioritize Studying Abroad above that opportunity.
But, I registered for several back-ups just in case the London universities do not accept my application, so there’s a possibility that I may not be able to study for a full year abroad. So there’s no credible commitment that it will happen.
And I honestly did not expect my back-ups of Orientation Leader and both RA positions to be offered to me. And when I think about the applicant pool, especially for I-house where they only hire around 6 students out of hundreds…
Now that I have all these opportunities in my hands, I’m doubting my priorities again…
Orientation Leader? Studying Abroad? RA for I-House (International Students & UC San Diego students)? RA for UC San Diego Transfers and Residents? Only International house and then Studying Abroad? Studying Abroad in the Summer? Or staying in San Diego for the Summer?
tell me Blog Journal, WHAT DO I DO?
President’s Weekend
FRIDAY:
Recovering after an all-nighter, I had an intense day. I studied all night to prepare for my weekend in LA and USC, brushing up on my Economics readings and Political Science Paper, along with my application to apply for International House next year. Halfway through my all-nighter, around 4AM, I decide to apply to be an Orientation Leader. Thankfully, the application had the some of the same application questions as my Ambassador, but unfortunately, the application was online, and I had to re-type my answers multiple times. Bummer, but bigger bummer was that I needed two reference applications, recommendations from faculty advisors.
This was unfortunate, seeing as how I had to finish the entire application and receive recommendations in a matter of hours, with the 4PM deadline hanging over my head. Moreover, that same day, I had to embark on my own buddy tour with my own SCA, Bijan. Add that with stresses to pack up for LA, I much to do.
Schedule:
12:00am-7:00am- Starting on my Political Science Paper, Economics Midterm, Refreshing my information on the Campus Tour, Filling out Two Applications, One for I-House, one for Orientation Leader
8am-9am-Running to the Warren Commuter Lounge and Warren Residential Life for two Recommendations, Small Talk, Conversation
10am-1pm-Studying for Tour, Buddy Tour, coming in early, get immediately thrust in Office Work (pretty exciting, seeing people come in, checking em’ in) FIRST BUDDY TOUR. Went much better than expected, and I looked pretty sexy in an Ambassador Polo if I must say so myself.
1pm-2pm- Frantic Packing for USC and LA. Running back to the Offices to Sign some papers, turn in Applications, Rushing back to my Apartment to Pack Bags, Printing out Receipts
2pm-4:00pm- First thirty minutes I knock out. Pretty hilarious how I attempt to continue conversation with Jose Bermudez while I fall asleep midway through him speaking. (Foreshadowing) Arriving at the Am-Trak, Train is late until 4pm. Blasted! I keep looking at an Alpha Chi Omega Girl because she keeps staring at me.
